El Segundo

Many consider El Segundo to be two cities in one, making it a very unique beach city. On the coastal side, the city has a quaint small town feel with a picturesque main street and downtown. Its residents enjoy an easy-going, friendly atmosphere, which creates a sense of both security and serenity.  Along the tree-lined streets, there are single-family ranch style homes, spacious two-story houses with open floor plans and beautiful yards, condominiums and town homes.

On the other hand, the inland side is home to a thriving business district; which includes fortune 500 companies, aerospace, information technology, manufacturing and healthcare to name just a few.

Hermosa Beach

Nestled in heart of the South Bay, Hermosa Beach calls its self the “the Best Little Beach City.” The smallest of the three beach cities, it is bordered by Manhattan to the north and Redondo to the south and east, Hermosa Beach spans only 15 blocks to the east and west and 40 blocks to the north and south. Real estate in Hermosa Beach has a diverse selection of properties ranging from small pre-war beach bungalows to massive beachfront estates. Hermosa Beach is well known for surfing and volleyball and is a hot-spot destination for beach-goers and singles in search of nightlife entertainment.

Hermosa Beach real estate is divided into 3 sections; the Sand Section, Valley Section and East Hermosa Beach. The Sand Section consists of the most expensive real estate in Hermosa Beach running along the beachfront from north to south and east to Valley Drive.  Properties in this section consist of homes, condos and townhomes on small lots often with ocean views, which can span from Palos Verdes (PV) to Santa Monica. Homes in the Valley Section are located between Valley Drive and Pacific Coast Highway (PCH/Sepulveda) and have larger family oriented layouts. The main attraction in this section is the lushly landscaped “Greenbelt” or “Chip Trail” which starts on 190th Street (Herondo) in Redondo Beach and runs through Manhattan Beach to Sepulveda. This is a popular place for the health conscience South Bay residences to walk, jog or run with dogs. Hermosa East also fondly known as the Hermosa Hills is east of PCH. Due to the slight elevation, many of the single-family homes and townhouses enjoy ocean views.

Only 1.43 square miles, everything in Hermosa Beach is an easy walk or bike away. The Strand, which runs parallel to the beach spans south to Redondo Beach and north through Manhattan Beach to Santa Monica, is a popular walking path often populated with bikers, skateboarder and runners.

Downtown Hermosa Beach is often regarded as the mecca of nightlife attraction in the South Bay. Located at the intersection of Pier Avenue and Hermosa Avenue, downtown is home to a number of bars, restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. The popularity of this nightlife destination has contributed to nearly 40% of the population being between the ages of 21-35. Most residents would agree Hermosa Beach is a great place for those interested in an active and social lifestyle.

Manhattan Beach

Manhattan Beach, which is referred to as the ‘Pearl of the South Bay,’ is located south of El Segundo and north of Hermosa Beach. The 4.9 square mile city features 40 acres of beach with 2.1 miles of beachfront property, attractive homes on tree-lined streets and an exceptional year-round climate. Boasting an award winning school district, close proximity to LAX and downtown LA and high-end shopping and restaurants this city is great for families and commuters alike.

Manhattan Beach Real estate is broken up into different sections including; The Sand Section, Hill Section, Tree Section, Gas Lamp Section, The Village, Manhattan Heights, The Knolls (East Manhattan Beach), Liberty Village, Poet’s Section (Shelley, Tennyson, Longfellow, Keats), and El Porto (North Manhattan Beach). Manhattan Beach locals support a strong sense of community and family, making Manhattan Beach one of the best places to raise a family.  The Manhattan Beach Unified School District touts test scores in the top 1% on the state and national lever, while both US News and Newsweek ranked Mira Costa High School in the top 1% of schools nationally.

Surfing, volleyball, biking and other outdoor activities flourish in this beach community.  It is not uncommon to see residents taking advantage of the exceptional weather at the beach, on the Strand, downtown or at any number of the local parks such as Live Oak north of Downtown and Polliwog in East Manhattan. Palos Verdes

Located south of Torrance on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Palos Verdes is best known for it’s open space and expansive views of the Pacific Ocean.  Between the luxurious Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles and Terrenea Resort, Palos Verdes offers world-renowned restaurants, a world-class spa, dramatic 9-hole par-3 golf course, and a host of family-friendly activities. In addition to the many amenities, PV offers unmatched panoramic views from the Los Angeles city lights to Catalina Island.

Redondo Beach

North Redondo tends to be popular based on the ease of commuting to Los Angeles and it’s nearness to a number of freeways.  With the widest price range of the beach cities, the real estate varies from modest priced family homes, townhomes and condos.

Torrance
